About Me
Hi, I'm Raeed — a driven and curious student currently on a dual academic path. I'm pursuing a BE in Computer Science and Engineering at College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, while simultaneously enrolled in the BS in Data Science and Applications at IIT Madras.
My core programming skills include C, C++, and Python, and I enjoy working with data science libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib to explore and visualize real-world datasets. I'm also an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, with hands-on experience across core AWS services.
Whether it's writing clean systems-level code, analysing data, or architecting cloud solutions, I bring focus and curiosity to everything I do — and I'm just getting started.
College
At College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University — one of India's most prestigious engineering institutions — I'm pursuing a BE in Computer Science and Engineering, currently holding a CGPA of 9.76. The program has given me a rigorous grounding in the fundamentals that underpin all of software development.
A core highlight of my college curriculum has been mastering C and C++ programming along with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). I'm well-versed in OOP principles such as encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction — building programs that are modular, reusable, and maintainable. Alongside this, I've developed strong skills in memory management, pointers, data structures, and algorithm design through C and C++.
Beyond programming, my coursework spans core CS subjects including Digital Logic, Computer Organization & Architecture, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, and Computer Networks. These subjects together shape me into an engineer who understands not just how to code, but how computers and systems fundamentally work.
IITM BS Data Science
The BS in Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras is a flexible, modular online degree structured across Foundation, Diploma, and Degree levels. I've successfully completed the Foundation level — all 8 courses, 32 credits — with a CGPA of 9.88, one of the highest in my cohort.
My Foundation grades speak for themselves. I scored an S (the highest grade) in Mathematics for Data Science I, Mathematics for Data Science II, Statistics for Data Science I, Statistics for Data Science II, Computational Thinking, Python Programming, and English II — and an A in English I. Every technical subject: a perfect S.
Now progressing through the Diploma level, the curriculum deepens into applied data science and programming. The strong quantitative and programming foundation I've built — backed by these grades and my parallel work with NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib — puts me in a strong position to take on the more advanced challenges ahead.
AWS & Cloud
I'm an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner — a foundational certification that validates my understanding of the AWS Cloud, its core services, and the key concepts of cloud computing. Earning this certification gave me a solid grounding in cloud economics, security, architecture, and the shared responsibility model.
Through this journey, I've built hands-on familiarity with a wide range of AWS services: EC2 (virtual machines), S3 (object storage), IAM (identity & access management), VPC (networking), Lambda (serverless computing), RDS (managed databases), CloudWatch (monitoring), Route 53 (DNS), and CloudFront (CDN). I understand how these services work together to build scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures.
Cloud computing is now a core part of my skill set alongside Python, C, and C++. I'm excited to build on this foundation — applying cloud-native thinking to real projects and working towards more advanced AWS certifications as I grow into a well-rounded engineer and data scientist.
